It all could have started with an experience that might have happened last summer. There was a party at a friend's home in West Salem and they just happened to have an amazing view of the valley. As more people showed up and the party really started to get going a few people could not help but be drawn outside to that amazing view.

What was also amazing was the deck that they stood on for the view. The new deck, composed of eco-friendly Trex, with an accent color of dark brown was surrounded by craftsman style balusters and railings that gave a traditional look and feel . The deck wrapped around the back side of the home and provided various scenic views from different vantage points. Several small outdoor telescopes were mounted in strategic places to maximize the view experience.

Outdoor stairs on each end led down to a lower deck off of the daylight basement room while still allowing for that same amazing view between the trees. The result of seeing this deck or any deck similar to this in person or through virtual tours in photo galleries can be a strong desire and focus on getting a deck for your own home before the summer season. The benefits of exterior remodeling with a deck can completely change your outdoor experience without leaving your home. From barbeques to outdoor early morning breakfast to just sitting and relaxing after work, a deck can offer a lot of enjoyment that can also include entertaining and parties.

Taking it one step further, a sun room is a hybrid of an addition and a covered patio deck. A sun room can be built over the same deck as flooring, but have walls and plenty of windows and skylights to allow for an outdoor experience while being protected from the colder weather and rain. An award winning combination of sun room and deck is shown in the pictures below. One area is completely open for those precious sunny days in the Willamette Valley when you want to soak up all of the sun's rays while barbecuing with family and friends.

Another area is open as well, but has a full covering so if a sudden shower starts to fall you have protection until the storm passes, or on those scorching hot days, you can beat the heat in the cooling shade while still enjoying the fresh breeze and sounds of nature.
The third part of the deck is a spectacular 3-season room with a plethora of features. It is accessible from both sides of the deck as well as by sliding glass door into the formal dining room of the home.

Every wall has windows so that the surrounding natural backyard could be viewed from any seat. The walls are insulated so there is protection from the elements and climate but it is brilliantly balanced by the deck floor which continually allows in fresh air so you know you're outside but in perfect comfort.

An unforeseen bonus the homeowner delights in is supremely easy clean up. Sweeping under the rug isn't even necessary! The 3-season room is enjoyed all year round. It flows seamlessly from the main part of the house and does not even seem like an addition. It is the favorite place for the homeowners and their guests alike to enjoy.
